Off Road Racing - In Adrenalin Machines

Off road racing has really taken off in the last couple of years, but unfortunately so have costs to build & race these special vehicles.

This high cost of racing has led to a new form of racing with smaller light weight buggies powered by high performance motorcycle engines. They are called mini buggies or super lights and have really experienced some huge growth in numbers.

These mini buggies may look small & under powered, but as most are fitted with a high powered motorcycle engine of 1000cc or more, these buggies end up with a power to weight ratio very similar to a works rally car. Now combine this fact with a small nimble light weight chassis and you are looking at one serious adrenalin machine.

Mini buggy racing is one of the most exciting sports to branch off from the big off road buggies and is a sport that is very easy to get hooked on either as a driver or as a spectator. As most people tend to build their own buggies the costs are quite reasonable when compared to building other forms of racing vehicles.

Due to demand there are now many business's that build & sell buggy components & kits to make building reasonably easy & affordable.

With the fast pace of growth of this type of racing, many clubs have now started to appear around the country to offer this new affordable off road racing to any one that is interested.

Most clubs are more than happy to help new members with support & advice to build their buggies and offer a safe environment to enjoy close wheel to wheel racing action.
